Seibido Original Pocket Watch Leather Strap

Your wish will come true.
It's finally finished! Introducing the pocket watch to watch leather strap that will transform your pocket watch into a wristwatch.

The history of pocket watches is older than that of wristwatches, with records showing that they were already in use in the 17th century.

Pocket watches were considered luxury items owned only by a small minority of royalty and aristocrats.

Nowadays, wristwatches are used overwhelmingly worldwide, and with the spread of smartphones and mobile phones, there are an increasing number of people who have heard of pocket watches but have never actually seen or used one.

Brown leather pocket watch strap (single item)

It's interesting to explore the origins of the wristwatch. This leather strap for a pocket watch reproduces the techniques needed by soldiers during war.

The need for wristwatches began in the 19th century when soldiers during wars fastened leather straps to their wrists to avoid the time-consuming task of taking a pocket watch out of their pocket every time they wanted to check the time.

Then, in the 20th century, clocks became smaller, and full-fledged wristwatches began to become popular, replacing pocket watches.

As a pocket watch specialty store, we wanted everyone to know about the origins of the wristwatch: the leather straps that turned pocket watches into watches, worn on the wrists of soldiers fighting in war.

It has been improved in the second edition
The more I learned about the history of pocket watches, from pocket watches to wristwatches, the more I wanted to make a pocket watch leather strap.

This is a piece of information I received from a manufacturer when we started dealing in pocket watches in earnest.
It described a time long ago when pocket watches were replaced by wristwatches.

Among the documents was a black and white photograph of a soldier with a pocket watch on his wrist.

There was a good old coolness there that can never be expressed in modern times, such as the birth of mobile phones and smartwatches.

Even if I can't do it to the same extent as back then, I want to recreate the strap that wraps around a pocket watch on my own wrist! This product was born from that wish.

There are few manufacturers that continue to make pocket watches, and even fewer that make accessories for them.
I took the black and white photo and my current pocket watch and went to various places to have it remade, but I still wasn't satisfied...

After about 10 years of development, the first edition was finally completed and immediately sold out. After further improvements, the second edition was completed.

There is a strap with a loop to prevent the pocket watch from falling off. The case that holds the pocket watch is just the right hardness.

The large case size, like a pocket watch, gives it a presence not found in other wristwatches, and the leather fits comfortably, making it a leather strap that allows you to enjoy a stylish look that is unique to you.

The male model in the image has a wrist size of 18cm. The belt hole is the third hole from the tightest point.

When worn by a staff member with a wrist circumference of 16cm, it fit at the smallest size, although this depends on the size of the pocket watch.

The belt has seven holes in total.

It can be used by people with wrist circumferences between 16cm and 21cm.
The size is suitable for the wrist of an average Japanese man.

It is not impossible for people with wrist circumferences of 16cm or less to use this product, but it will be a little loose.

If you wear size 22cm, it may feel a little tight, but once the leather breaks in it will become the perfect size.

It can fit a small pocket watch, but it rattles around and looks awkward, so I don't recommend it.

We recommend a pocket watch case size between 45mm and 50mm in diameter.

A 50mm diameter, like a Seiko railroad watch, fits best.

We recommend pocket watch case thicknesses between 8mm and 14mm .

We do not recommend pocket watches with case thicknesses of 8mm or less, as they will rattle and look awkward. Pocket watches with case thicknesses of 15mm or more may not fit.

Please check the size of your pocket watch before purchasing.

▼Comments from Hayato (male, 40s) who purchased the pocket watch with a brown leather strap:
■Question 1: What made you decide to purchase the product?

I asked Goda-san on YouTube Live if I could see it because I was curious, and he showed it to me.

■Question 2: What was it about the product you purchased that attracted you?

Above all, I feel a sense of fulfillment when I can wear a JNR pocket watch on my wrist. It makes a huge impact. The other day, at the Railway Museum in Omiya, someone asked me, "Where did you get that wristwatch made?" The leather has a great texture.

■Question 3: If you have any advice about our customer service or service, please let us know.

I first learned about Shobido when I asked them to enable the hack function on my JNR pocket watch, and they overhauled it and brought it back to better condition than ever. That's when I learned about this pocket watch wristband and purchased it.

I quite like military things, and in the movie Wonder Woman, there is a scene where an air force soldier gives a pocket watch to Wonder Woman as a wristwatch before going into battle knowing that he will die, so I was looking for a watch like that, and I found it at Seibido and bought it.
