| The passion for mechanical watches of Peter Hofer, founder of Montres Epos, began in the mid-1970s, during the heyday of quartz watches, and in 1984 he founded Montres Epos, a company specializing in the manufacture of mechanical watches, in Bienne, the center of the Swiss watch industry.
