The Big Crown ProPilot Big Date inherits the DNA of Oris' flagship Big Crown series.

The green dial is inspired by the grasslands of the Okavango Delta and comes with a green Erica fabric strap (an additional brown leather strap and travel pouch are also included).

Grasslands of the Okavango Delta

Botswana's Okavango Delta is a natural wonder and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, the area covers 20,000 square kilometres of plains and was inscribed as the 1,000th UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. Botswana's Okavango Delta is one of the most spectacular places on earth.

Until Okavango Air Rescue (OAR) was founded in 2011, there was no air medical organization in the region, and residents and tourists needing medical treatment had to wait for flights from neighboring countries to be transported to hospitals.

Currently, OAR covers the Delta region and the Southern African continent with two PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft and two Bell Jet Ranger 206 III helicopters.

Okavango Air Rescue

When Christian Gross and Dr. Misha S. Crook saw inadequate health services in a remote area of ​​Botswana, they took action.

They moved to Botswana in 2011 and used their respective experiences to found OAR, a private, privately funded organisation that provides quality medical services via a general hospital, helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft to local residents and visitors to Botswana.

OAR is based in Malung, Botswana, at the gateway to the Okavango Delta. The team is made up of doctors, pilots, nurses, paramedics and administrative staff, some of whom are Botswana-born but also from around the world.

What began as emergency medical care and emergency transport has now expanded to provide comprehensive medical care, with two Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing aircraft, two Bell Jet Ranger 206 III helicopters and a full-service hospital.

To date, we have transported over 1,500 critically ill patients and treated over 20,000 patients at our general hospital.

Oris was delighted to partner with OAR and launch a new watch to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

We will continue to support this organization that is making a positive difference and their air rescue efforts.

Oris has joined Rega and the Australian Flying Doctor Service as medical organization partners. The new model is based on the Oris Big Crown ProPilot and features a green dial reminiscent of the Okavango Delta grasslands and a green Erika's Originals strap .

The case back features a rescue helicopter and the grasslands of the Okavango Delta.

The serial number indicating that this is a limited edition model is also engraved on the case back. (You cannot choose the number.)

Leather travel pouch and belt

In addition to the main body, it comes with an additional brown leather strap and travel pouch.

Depending on your mood, you can change the strap from green textile to leather.

The movement used in this watch is based on the Swiss movement SW 220-1, and is finished and processed uniquely by the Oris brand, further improving its precision and functionality.
