A Billion Reasons


Centuries ago, oysters covered 220,000 acres of New York Harbor.

The grown oysters act as a filter, filtering 50 gallons (about 200 liters) of seawater per day, and have approached the ecosystem of other marine life.As New York City developed as a global logistics hub, sewage and industrial wastewater flowed into the sea.

By the early 20th century, the harbor was polluted and marine life was dying.



Non-profit initiative "Billion Oyster Project"
The Billion Oyster Project was launched in 2014.

Since then, 11,000 volunteers have participated, along with 8,000 students, 100 schools across New York City, and over 50 restaurants, who have partnered to release oysters, create reefs, and spread the word.

As a result, the natural environment has been restored and students have become interested in environmental conservation.

Oris focuses on water, the source of life, and actively supports conservation efforts around the world.

For example, we have released a number of watches to support public relations efforts, such as research and observation of Lake Baikal, coral reef restoration programs in Australia and Florida, and the problem of marine plastic waste.
