About Ruhla
About Ruler
Ruhla was founded in 1862 by the Thiel brothers as a metal parts manufacturer in Ruhla, Thuringia, and began producing watches and other items in 1892. The Bauhaus building, renowned for its architecture, was constructed by Schreiter and Schlag, and it was in this building that Ruhla brand watches were manufactured.
With over 100,000 people employed, the town of Ruhla developed as a precision machinery manufacturing town, and Ruhla brand watches and clocks became a popular top brand, mainly in former communist countries.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the reunification of East and West Germany, the company found itself in a difficult position, with each division split up and sold, and watch production halted. Despite this dire situation, in 2019, Pointec CEO Willie Berk amicably acquired the Bauhaus building factory, its museum, the RUHLA watch brand, and the employees working there, and the company has since grown into a globally renowned brand.
In September 2023, the much-anticipated RUHLA brand watches, the most well-known and best-selling in the former East Germany and other communist countries, will finally be released back into the world by Point Tech!

The back of the unit is engraved with a logo reminiscent of a Glassbach cup.

The belt has a three-fold buckle with a lock to prevent it from accidentally coming loose.

Because it is a quartz model, it keeps accurate time without the time lag of a mechanical watch. It is equipped with a Japanese quartz movement (Citizen Miyota 6S20).
