Specifications

This cushion-case wristwatch is a pilot's watch called Majetec, which was commissioned by the Czechoslovakian military between 1935 and 1945 from the three major watch manufacturers of the time (Longines, Eterna, and Lemania).
This watch, which is said to be a masterpiece of rugged yet highly decorative pilot's watches, is paired with the popular California dial.
California Dial
The history of the California dial dates back to the 1930s, when it was used on watches by brands such as Rolex and Panerai. At the time, it was not called a California dial but rather a "high visibility dial" or "error proof dial."
This composite dial, featuring Roman numerals, Arabic numerals, line indexes, and triangular indexes, has the advantage of allowing you to accurately tell the time no matter what position you are in, even on the battlefield.
It was adopted by the Italian Navy Special Forces in 1936 to improve visibility in dark combat situations, and has since been adopted by military watches in various countries, making it a highly visible and practical design.

The reason it is called a highly designed pilot's watch is because of its highly decorative coin bezel, cobra hands, and rugged large cushions. Although they may seem contradictory at first glance, the unique Y-shaped lugs create a beautiful balance.
The crossed swords on the top right of the case represent military property, but when the homeland was occupied by German forces, the pilot joined the Royal Air Force and fought to reclaim his homeland. It is said that the swords were engraved to commemorate this bravery.

A watch worn by soldiers on the battlefield.
Pocket watches were originally used, but towards the end of the 19th century, a German soldier began wearing one on his wrist, making it more convenient, and pocket watches became popular on the battlefield.
Pocket watches had the disadvantage of requiring one hand to be occupied when wearing them, so the idea of wearing it on the wrist was simple yet revolutionary.
Records show that around 1880, German Emperor Wilhelm I had wristwatches manufactured for the German Navy.
There are now many different designs of wristwatches, but their roots lie in military watches (watches worn by soldiers).
Today, it is loved by military fans around the world not only for its history, but also for its rugged, minimalist, masculine design and easy-to-use functionality.
