M.R.M.W. (Montre Roroi Military Watch) Ships Small Second Wristwatch

MRMW's flagship model, the BUSHIPS WATCH, is broadly divided into two types. The BUSHIPS watch, made for special operations units made up of elite members of the US Army and Navy in the 1940s, was supplied by both Elgin and Hamilton.

The Elgin version has been reproduced several times, including by our company, but the Hamilton version has never been reproduced. This may be because the crown cap, which is the most distinctive feature of the Bussips, is smaller and less noticeable than the Elgin version.

However, Buships has a wide variety of dials. The rare model with a small second dial has been antiqued and fitted with a leather strap, making it a very sophisticated Buship watch.

What is a ship watch?

BUSHIPS is an abbreviation for Bureau of Ships.

This is a special waterproof watch developed and distributed for members of the UDT (Underwater Demolition Team), a U.S. Navy special forces unit formed during World War II.

What is a military watch?

A watch worn by soldiers on the battlefield.

Pocket watches were originally used, but towards the end of the 19th century, a German soldier began wearing one on his wrist, making it more convenient, and pocket watches became popular on the battlefield.

Pocket watches had the disadvantage of requiring one hand to be occupied when wearing them, so the idea of wearing it on the wrist was simple yet revolutionary.

There are records that show that around 1880, German Emperor Wilhelm I had wristwatches manufactured for the German Navy.

There are now many different designs of wristwatches, but their roots lie in military watches (watches worn by soldiers).

Today, it is loved by military fans around the world not only for its history, but also for its rugged, minimalist, masculine design and easy-to-use functionality.
