It is stamped with the name of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation, the predecessor of NTT, and is thought to have been a watch used to record telephone call times. As such, the small seconds hand is distinctive in that it alternates between white and yellow every 10 seconds.

The well-worn crown and aged case back give it a retro feel, and the movement is in good working order.

During the Showa era of the Japanese National Railways, the 19SEIKO was a favorite among railway workers for its high precision.
