Muhle Glashutte SAR Rescue-Timer LUMEN Automatic 42mm Watch Ref. M1-41-08-CB
Inspired by the principles of the captains of the German Sea Rescue Association, the SAR collection is a purposeful timepiece built to withstand any environment.
Mühle-Glashütte has three values that ensure that its watches are the ideal choice.
These are " accuracy, robustness, and readability ."
High robustness refers to the achievement of fine control of impact resistance and water resistance of more than 10 bars.
Precision is achieved through complex regulations in accordance with German chronometer standards, which dictate that Mühle-Glashütte watches maintain an accuracy of 0 to a maximum of +8 per day .
The readability is evident at a glance from its neat design.

Muhle Glashutte was founded in 1869 as a precision machinery manufacturer in Glashütte, the mecca of the German watch industry in former Germany.
Now, having celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2019, the company remains family-run, with the founding family, the Mühle family, serving as CEO.
In 1945, during the chaos following Germany's defeat in the war, the company was dissolved, but in 1994, following the reunification of East and West Germany, it was reborn as the new Mühle.
Mühle Headquarters in Germany
In the same year that the company was relaunched, it succeeded in developing an ultra-high precision quartz marine chronometer with a daily deviation of 0.01 seconds. In 1995, the company entered the wristwatch market, and in 2006, it completed its own factory.

The function and design of the SAR are inspired by the beliefs of the captains of the German Sea Salvage Association.
The German Salvage Association is responsible for search and rescue in German waters in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, including the exclusive economic zone. The headquarters and the association's maritime rescue coordination centre are in Bremen. The association was founded in Kiel on 29 May 1865.
The Mühle-Glashütte SAR rescue timers were handed over to the association's helmsmen in February 2002.

The date magnifying lens is made of anti-reflective sapphire crystal, approximately 4mm thick, and is attached to the inside of the glass, resulting in a smooth surface.
Another interesting feature is that the crown is located at 4 o'clock, so it doesn't touch your wrist.

It is also described as 100 ATM water resistant or 1000M water resistant.
With a water resistance of 100 bar (1,000 m), it is truly the highest level of waterproofing, developed for professional divers.
It has the performance to be used by saturation divers who perform salvage work on the seabed, as well as professional divers.
*Please be sure to perform regular maintenance to maintain water resistance. Also, this model does not have a unidirectional rotating bezel.

The entire dial is coated with luminous paint, allowing you to check the time even in the dark.

The logo of the German Sea Rescue Association is printed on the back of the unit.

With a water resistance of 100 ATM, you won't have to worry about sudden rain. While diver's watches tend to have noisy dials, this one has a simpler, more user-friendly design.
