The 1881 Automatic was developed for those who appreciate Movado's unique, modern, and beautiful design and the intricate mechanics of mechanical watches.
"1881" refers to the year Movado was founded. Equipped with a Swiss-made movement, this model combines Swiss tradition with modern mechanical beauty. Movado's signature dot is located at the 12 o'clock position, while a date window is located at the 6 o'clock position. |

A highlight is the Museum Watch Collection: designed in 1947 by Bauhaus-influenced artist Nathan George Horwitt, these timepieces are lauded for their purity of design, unparalleled in the history of watches.

This Horwitt dial has been recognized by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the first museum established with a contemporary focus, and has been selected for its permanent collection, signifying its status as a masterpiece of modern and contemporary art.

The hour and minute hands set on the dial are sharp-style dolphin hands, and the tips of the applied hour indexes are accented in the same color as the case, ensuring both design and visibility.
The distinctive dial has a two-layer structure, with a matte finish in the center and a sunburst finish on the outer edge.

The case size is 39.5mm, which is just the right size for Japanese men's wrists. The crystal is made of durable, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
It is equipped with a date calendar at the 6 o'clock position, making it convenient for everyday use.

When viewed from the side of the case, it has an inverted truncated cone shape, giving it a clean, sharp impression. The crown at 3 o'clock features the brand logo.

The movement is a Swiss automatic movement. The case back is made of durable, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, allowing you to view the complex movements of the highly efficient automatic movement through the see-through case back.

The black leather strap features a unique buckle. The buckle has a design with a cutout, and the center features Movado's iconic dot, just like the dial.

The modern and simple dial is perfectly matched with the elegant appearance. The inverted truncated cone case minimizes the surface area that comes into contact with the skin, making it a perfect design that does not interfere with the μ.

The latest model "1881 Automatic" inherits the Museum Watch tradition
The 1881 Automatic is a mechanical model that inherits the beautiful design of Movado's Museum series of art watches, which embodies the essence of the Bauhaus school.
The hour markers are accented with the same color as the case, ensuring visibility and design. The date calendar also displays the date, making it easier to use than usual.
This model is perfect as an accent for formal wear or dressy outfits, as well as for a neat jacket and pants style.
