Satellite radio-controlled wall clocks receive time information from GPS* satellites and automatically correct the displayed time, allowing for a much wider reception range indoors than conventional radio-controlled clocks that use standard radio waves.

Compared to conventional radio-controlled clocks, the radio wave has a longer reach from windows and building entrances, so it can be installed further inside the room. This makes it easier to use in reinforced concrete buildings such as apartment buildings, where reception was previously difficult.
