Telling the story of the eternal Silk Road
Genuine mother-of-pearl pocket watch "Mother-of-pearl purple sandalwood five-stringed biwa"
This mother-of-pearl pocket watch, "Mother-of-pearl Purple Sandalwood Five-Stringed Biwa," features a design of a wandering poet riding a camel, which is depicted on the plectrum surface (the part that the plectrum touches) of a biwa, a Shosoin treasure, reproduced on the surface of the case.
The vibrant and beautiful world of gorgeous gold leaf lacquerware conveys the story of the eternal Silk Road.
The artist is Takashi Tanaka, a Wajima lacquerware artist. The beauty of the three-dimensional designs shines with a profound brilliance that could only be achieved by a master who is a member of the Nitten Association and has received numerous honors.
The price of this piece would double just because it has his name on it, but you can really appreciate its absolute value in that it is painted entirely with a variety of gold powder, without any colored lacquer. Of course, the case and crown are made of solid 18k gold. The movement is a hand-wound movement from Aerowatch, a top Swiss brand, and this is a masterpiece that is committed to being top-notch in every way.

AEROWATCH
Aerowatch
Aero was founded in Neuchâtel, Switzerland in 1942 by Maxime Clevage, who inherited the skills and traditions of the Clevagie family, a family of watchmakers.
Currently, Dennis Bolzli, a veteran in the industry, is the company's president, and the company is one of the few Swiss manufacturers specializing in high-end pocket watches.
AERO's distinctive features lie in the warmth of handmade products, which are made using the ancient European "hammering technique" inherited from our predecessors and the excellent carving skills of top-class craftsmen.
In Japan, too, it has been loved by many people for over 30 years as a masterpiece with the precise mechanism that only a handmade manufacturer can offer and a beautiful form that exudes nostalgia.

The classic hands and Roman numerals are a perfect match.
The white dial also enhances the overall elegance of the watch.

At 3 o'clock is the crown for winding the mainspring and adjusting the time. The button on the crown also opens and closes the cover.
It has a traditional, old-fashioned design with a small seconds hand at 6 o'clock.

This is a hand-wound pocket watch that does not require a battery. It works by winding the mainspring, so you can enjoy the unique ticking sound of a watch.
If you place it in a very quiet place, the sound is loud enough to resonate even if it is not close to your ear. This may be a drawback for those who are sensitive to noise, but for those who love hand-wound watches and other mechanical movements, it is sure to be an irresistible, fascinating sound.
