Basically, please use it by connecting the AC power adapter. (Please use dry batteries only as a backup for power outages.)

When using the AC power adapter, the LCD display will be illuminated at all times, but when using batteries only, it will only be illuminated for approximately 3 seconds when you press the snooze button.
