A Lithuanian aerobatic pilot, born in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, he returned to Lithuania with his parents as a child and began flying aerobatics at a local flying club.

From 1982 onwards, he worked as a test pilot for the Sukhoi Design Bureau, testing Sukhoi acrobatic aircraft such as the Su-26, Su-29, Su-31 and JUKA. These aircraft were also provided for Jurgis' personal aerobatic flights, and he gained fame in numerous world competitions, while also contributing to the development of many of Jurgis's personal skills.

He has also participated in races held in Japan and was featured on television as a teacher for Japanese pilot Yoshihide Muroya.
