AERO Double-Sided Skeleton Pocket Watch

Aero Skeleton Pocket Watch
The condition of the watch is clear at a glance, with every detail visible
Small seconds display at 6 o'clock
Even the remaining winding of the mainspring is displayed

The good thing about skeleton watches is that they not only give you a clear view of the mechanism, but also allow you to check the condition of the watch without disassembling it.

The ability to check the remaining amount of winding in the mainspring, the condition of the balance wheel, and other conditions at a glance without having to take the time to disassemble the watch is probably a privilege unique to a fully skeletonized watch. If there is something abnormal, you can easily see it by simply looking around, which is a true example of functional beauty.

Skeleton watches are interesting because you can see the decorations in parts that would normally not be visible, and they are both easy to maintain and fun to look at.

Featured in a pocket watch magazine
The Pocket Watch Story
This model is featured in the skeleton watch section of "Pocket Watch Story," a pocket watch specialty magazine written by Kenji Kojima.

It is rare to see a current pocket watch featured in a specialist magazine that mainly features antiques.

AERO pocket watches are still a relatively unknown brand in Japan, but they are already well known among experts and are highly recognized as a specialized brand.

Swiss brand AERO: History

About Swissaero

Aéro was founded in Neuchâtel, Switzerland in 1942 by Maxime Clevaget, who inherited the techniques and traditions of the Clevaget family, a family of first-class watchmakers. Currently, the company is run by his second son, Georges, and is headed by Denis Borzli, a veteran in the field. Aéro is one of the few Swiss manufacturers specializing in luxury pocket watches.

Its distinctive features are the warmth of handcrafting, achieved through the ancient European "hammering techniques" inherited from our predecessors and the excellent "carving techniques" of top-class craftsmen.

In Japan, it has been loved by many people for over 30 years as a masterpiece with a wide variety of variations that can only be achieved by a specialized manufacturer, the precise mechanism that can only be achieved by a handmade manufacturer, and a beautiful form that exudes nostalgia.

An attractive model that you won't get tired of looking at
Aerowatch pocket watches are fully skeletonized on both the front and back, allowing you to see the condition of the mechanism from any angle and view the beautiful 17-jewel movement.

The only downside to skeleton watches is that they are less legible than models with dials, but other than that they have many advantages.

This pocket watch is characterized by the mechanical sounds that reverberate off the glass, making the gentle, low beat of 18,000 vibrations per hour very audible.

Aerowatch is one of the few Swiss brands that specialises in pocket watches and is very popular.

This model is a double-sided fully skeletonized pocket watch.

It features a fully visible movement, Breguet-style hands, and a Roman numeral dial, the most popular dial style in Europe. The downside of a skeleton watch is that the complex structure is completely visible, making it difficult to read, but the upside is that the internal condition can be seen at a glance without having to take it apart, making it easy to maintain.

It is made up of over 100 parts, but not a single part is wasted, and when the owner winds the mainspring by hand, the watch begins to move as if it had been given life.

With glass on both sides, you can enjoy the slow beat of the Swiss hand-wound movement.

▼A message from WK, who purchased the AERO pocket watch, skeleton, 56738J501.
I am a 63-year-old man who wears only kimonos every day, so I keep a pocket watch in my obi rather than a wristwatch.

I have a braided cord attached to the netsuke, and I clip the pocket watch to my obi sash to prevent it from falling off, and I wear it every day. I wanted something I could leave to my children, so I ordered a Waltham solid silver open-face watch, but then I wanted another skeleton watch, so I chose the Aero.

Both are hand-wound, so I'm glad I received the skeleton first, because to be honest, I didn't know how to properly wind the crown.

Winding the crown while checking the condition of the watch gave me a sense of security. The children were fascinated by the skeleton pocket watch and wouldn't let it go.

I'm currently looking forward to getting my Waltham pocket watch, and I plan to use different ones depending on the kimono I'm wearing.

I will email you again once the Waltham pocket watch arrives.
