Seibido Watch Store Aftercare and Inspection

At Seibido, a watch, eyeglass, and jewelry store, we inspect all products before shipping them out after receiving your order.





At Seibido Co., Ltd., our specialized watch repair and inspection staff inspect all watches not only when they arrive, but also before they are shipped.




Quartz watches, mechanical watches, pocket watches... All watches are inspected, adjusted and shipped.

The tolerance for error (daily difference) is within ±20 seconds per day, while MIYOTA and others have an allowable range of ±60 seconds per day.

We don't just check the inside of the products we receive and before shipping them out. We also check the outside of the watch, checking for scratches, dust, etc.





"Moon Face" Watch. The moon face watch will be sent according to the phase of the moon.

Mechanical watches are visually checked by employees and then put into a machine for a final check to ensure they are ticking properly.


Although the check is done by machine, we also visually check that the watch is ticking properly.

It's OK if the scale indicates "0" and the blue line can be used to draw a line at 0. If you go to the right of 0 (zero), time is running faster, if you go to the left of 0 (zero), time is running slower, etc. Each mechanical watch is checked by machine.


*Quality standards for inspection


Regarding the discrepancy between the second hand and the scale

-For battery-operated quartz watches, the position of the second hand and the scale may not be aligned correctly.

This is not a defective product.



For quartz watches, the "second hand" is merely a means of determining whether the watch is functioning properly, and manufacturers have determined that this misalignment does not affect the accuracy or functionality of the watch.

The brands sold in our store have standards set by the manufacturer's headquarters in their home country and their authorized distributor in Japan.

In other words, it is not considered a defective product,

"Please send me one with a needle and scale that match perfectly."

Each brand does not accept requests such as these.

Our store also follows this policy and will consider any misalignment between the second hand and the scale to be a good product before shipping it out.


About the "battery" of a "quartz" watch

- The battery that comes with a quartz watch when you purchase it is called a monitor battery, which is a test battery installed at the time of manufacture and may run out of power sooner than the specified number of years.

This is true for all brands. If the battery runs out soon after purchase, please contact us and we will assist you.


*But... a clock is a living thing.



If you feel something strange after arriving...

We take the utmost care when receiving and shipping products. We also pack the products securely to prevent the watch from shaking inside. ( How do we pack our products? Click here for details. )


However, even if the product was in good health when it left our store, there are times when, once it arrives in the customer's hands, you might feel, "Huh? Something's wrong."

In such cases, please do not use the product and notify us.
We are not a nearby hospital where you can feel safe, but we will respond responsibly.


*Cracks or dirt on the strap after use by the customer, or water getting in when the crown is not tightened, etc. cannot be detected by inspection before the product is inspected. Watches are delicate, so please use them with care and follow the rules.
